I have always worn a clip since I became a mother (mostly to my handbag). Now that I have a very slim phone, I tuck it in my bra.

Sugaaa!

Got the same call from my mom 2 weeks ago. "...just got out of the hospital..."

at a party - stepped outside- took the call
re-entered - pretend all is well
go home - collapse

Being a mother is being a daughter is being a mother.

I loved your article on manners. I believe kids know a days need more manners. Like please and thank you for start. Learning to open a door for another or pick up an item someone might of dropped. To remember there are others in this world and we need to share it. My itch starts when my kids don't say please or thank you and my step daughter is learning the hard way on what it means to be polite and speak up and look someone in the eye when you speak and to speak loud enough so someone can hear the thank you or please. (I tell her what is the point of saying if they can't hear it) You shouldn't be embarrassed to be polite or nice I tell her. Unfortunately she didn't get this kind of up bringing till know so its a little itchy for the both of us but she is doing much better and it also shows with her relationship with her brother and sister and better choice of friends. We as parents are teachers of life and if we don't teach manners to our children they will grow up as unmannered adults and we already have enough of those. Kids are little people that need direction and understanding of how the world works and I tell my kids all the time you will get farther with a please and a thank you then a snarl and a push. We can leave that to the zoo animals I tell them and they laugh. Having boundaries and respect makes a better relationship for your whole family. You go sugar mama.
Big smiles and thumbs up from Please and Thank you

A colleague of mine had a German nanny who taught all 4 girls how to curse in German.

Then they found out she was running a brothel out of their basement.

And we're talking decades ago!
